Throughout this event, you will be able to complete a short research mission and collect exclusive field research.
Mountains of Power also includes the debut of Mega Aerodactyl, giving you the chance to complete another entry in the Mega Pokémon section of your Pokédex.

Steps of the Mountains of Power mission in Pokémon Go
Below you will find all the challenges and rewards for the Mountains of Power timed research mission in Pokémon Go. Since this is a timed research mission, you have until Thursday, January 13 at 8 pm (local time) to complete this quest line. If you don’t, you will lose the opportunity to earn your rewards.
These are the steps of the Mountains of Power mission; just be careful with spoilers:
‘Mountains of Power’ Step 1 of 2
Rewards: 1000 Stardust, 10 Great Balls and encounter with Absol
‘Mountains of Power’ Step 2 of 2
- Catch 6 different species of Pokémon: encounter with Chimecho
- Earn 2 candies walking with your friend – Encuentro Onix
- Hatch 2 Eggs – Beldum Encounter
Rewards: 2000 Stardust, 10 Ultra Balls and encounter with Mawile
The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
Mountains of Power Field Research Tasks in Pokémon Go
Throughout the Mountains of Power event in Pokémon Go, you’ll be able to collect a selection of exclusive Field Research Tasks by spinning PokéStops. These tasks can be saved and completed once the event ends, so you can finish them later if you wish.

Generations of Mountains of Power and event bonuses in Pokémon Go
The Mountains of Power event sees the debut of Mega Aerodactyl in Pokémon Go, so join a mega raid to start collecting Mega Energy for this Pokémon.
Heatran has also returned to five-star raids, while four Pokémon (Usaring, Donphan, Medicham, and Absol) appear in three-star raids. In one-star raids, you can fight Alolan Geodude, Onix, Beldum, and Bronzor.
The shiny versions of Slugma and Magcargo, their evolution, were also released as part of Mountains of Power. Slugma is one of the most frequently appearing Pokémon in the wild, so keep an eye out to see if you can add another shiny to your collection!
