How to get Larvesta in Pokémon Go

Larvesta and Volcarona, its evolution, made their first appearance in Pokémon Go on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the start of the An Instinctive Hero event.

This is how you can find Larvesta during the An Instinctive Hero event:

  • Hatching 2km, 5km and 10km Eggs: These eggs should be the ones that were collected during the An Instinctive Hero event, which will run from Tuesday, May 2 at 10am (local time) until Monday, May 8. May at 8 pm (local time).

Since Larvesta can only be found by hatching eggs, everyone will have a lot of walking to do in the near future. (Unless you’ve been hoarding incubators.)

We recommend focusing on the eggs with the shortest hatching distance. So if you have a 2km egg and a 5km egg that could hatch a Larvesta, for example, then place the 2km egg in your Unlimited Incubator. This will help free up space in your egg storage faster, and in doing so, help you hatch more eggs during the An Instinctive Hero event.

If you have spare incubators, then this event is a good time to use them, especially if you’re collecting 10 km eggs that can hatch a Larvesta.

Fortunately, once the An Instinctive Hero event ends, Larvesta will join the 2km, 5km, and 10km egg groups for the remainder of the Rising Heroes Season.

The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! He has brought the Timed Investigation: Master Ball quest, which offers you the chance to win another Master Ball. There’s also a new season of Go Battle League to participate in. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete Routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

How to evolve Larvesta into Volcarona in Pokémon Go

To turn Larvesta into Volcarona in Pokémon Go, you need to collect 400 Larvesta Candies.

Since Larvesta has joined Magikarp and Noibat in the ‘Pokémon that needs 400 candies to evolve’ club, it may take you some time to turn one into Volcarona.

Fortunately, there are several ways to increase candy production:

  • The double hatch candy bonus that runs during the An Instinctive Hero event will help you collect a good amount of candy by hatching Larvesta. For this reason, we recommend focusing on hatching 2 and 5 km eggs, as they have a shorter walking distance. If you fail to hatch all the eggs you collect during the An Instinctive Hero event, you can wait until this bonus returns.
  • The Featured Hour on Tuesday, May 16 between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm (local time) has a double candy transfer bonus. Waiting until this day to transfer any Larvesta you don’t want to keep will give you a small amount of extra candy.
  • Walking with Larvesta as your friend will allow you to collect candy while exploring the world with Pokémon Go.
  • Use Rare Candy to get more Larvesta candy!

Hopefully, the tips above get you a little closer to adding Volcarona to your Pokédex.

Good luck capturing and evolving Larvesta!
