  2. Artazon Gym – Grass Brassius Gym Leader
  3. Levincia Gym – Iono Electric Gym Leader
  4. Cascarrafa Gym – Kofu Aquatic Gym Leader

How the Victory Road story works in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To complete the Victory Road story in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must defeat all eight Gym Leaders from the Paldea region, in order to challenge the Elite Four and, finally, the Senior Champion.

The open-world nature of Scarlet and Violet means you can challenge Gym Leaders in any order you want. However, it is important to note that your Pokémon’s levels are set and because of this, there is a preferred path to follow, which we outlined in the previous section.

You’ll experience a series of stories as you travel between gyms, such as meeting important characters and battles with Nemona. Please remember: due to the non-linear nature of this story, these events are not tied to specific locations.

Finally, defeating a Gym Leader will grant you the usual Gym Badge and TM, as well as unlocking more classes in the Academy and more TMs that can be created.

Before tackling the Area Zero Hidden Treasure DLC, our Pokémon Scarlet and Violet walkthrough can take you through the entire game, including The First Day of School, Victory Road, Starfall Street, Path of Legends, and, when you’re ready, The Way Home. and the final boss. Elsewhere, we can help with the normal gym test secret item menu, version differences, the best scarlet and violet starter, XP farming, shiny Pokémon, and learning to fly, swim, climb, and run. When it comes to individual Pokémon, we can help with Gimmighoul, Ditto, Bellibolt, Pawmot, Scovillain, Frigibax, Sinistea, Brambleghast, Annihilape, Farigiraf, Dudunsparce, Lycanrock, Armarouge, and Ceruledge.

Gym badges in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet explained

You’ll receive a Gym Badge for each Gym Leader you defeat in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, each of which will make Pokémon of a specific level listen to you and be easier to catch.

However, unlike previous Pokémon games, this bonus is now tied to the number of badges you have, rather than a specific badge itself. This means that you can’t defeat a specific Gym Leader and, in doing so, make all Pokémon obey you regardless of their level. You must collect all Gym Badges to earn this bonus!

Below you will find out how many badges you need to increase the level cap in terms of making Pokémon listen to you and be easier to catch:

  • 1 badge: up to level 25
  • 2 badges: up to level 30
  • 3 badges: up to level 35
  • 4 badges: up to level 40
  • 5 badges: up to level 45
  • 6 badges: up to level 50
  • 7 badges: up to level 55
  • 8 Badges: All Pokémon will obey your commands and will be easier to catch.

Good luck traveling Victory Road, and once you’ve reached the end, be sure to explore the stories of Starfall Street and Path of Legends!
