Location of Kyokugon Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Kyokugon Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is hidden inside the Great Plateau Foothill cave. The coordinates of Kyokugon Shrine are (-0709, -1551, 0006) but you must find the entrance to the cave to reach the Shrine.

The entrance to the Great Plateau Foothill cave is northeast of the Forest of Spirits and south of Hyrule Field. The entrance coordinates of Great Plateau Foothill Cave are (-0836, -1478, 0024) and we have marked their location on the map below.

When you reach the entrance to the cave, you will notice that it is blocked with rocks. There are several layers of rock blocking the entrance to the cave, so we recommend going to the Fire Temple to complete the main quest there before attempting to enter here.

Alternatively, you can attach a rock to one of your melee weapons and create a hammer to smash your way through the rocks. There are weapons scattered throughout the cave and plenty of rocks to fuse together if your weapon is destroyed.

Once you enter the first part of the cave, there will be two Horriblins waiting for you. Deal with them and then follow the path forward until you see a group of rocks to your right. Break these and you will find a Bubbulfrog (if you want one).

After you’ve done that, head back to the main cave path and go down to the back of the cave which is blocked by more rocks. Destroy them to reveal the Kyokugon Shrine.

Kyokugon Shrine puzzle solution in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To solve the Kyokugon Shrine puzzle in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom you must look up. No, seriously, you really need to look up.

When you first enter the Sanctuary, move forward and climb the large steps into the main Sanctuary area. This is pretty much the only room in this Shrine, except for the Blessing Light section, behind the wall on the opposite side.

When you enter this room, you’ll notice a bunch of orb locking mechanisms in some levels, but only four orbs to place in them. Remember what we said a moment ago, that you need to look up to solve the puzzle? Do exactly that and you should see several green circles on the roof of the Sanctuary.

The circles on the ceiling tell you exactly where to place the orbs, as the green markings are directly above an orb lock. All you need to do is place an orb in each of the locks indicated by the patterns on the ceiling and the door leading to the Light of Blessing will open.

If you’re having trouble, here’s a picture of where all the orbs for the Kyokugon Shrine should go:

When the door is open, go through it, but don’t get your Blessing Light yet!

Face the Light of Blessing and then look to your right, you should see a chest trapped behind a closed door. You’ll also see an orb here, but there are no locked orbs visible in this area.

Turn around so that the Light of Blessing is on your right and look up at the ceiling. Here there will be another green mark.

Walk below the mark and then look down at the ground. Activate Ultrahand and one of the floor tiles should stand out. Grab this slab and lift it up, then push it to the side and let it fall. An orb lock where the token was will now be accessible.

Grab the orb through the door preventing you from reaching the chest, drop it on the newly revealed orb lock to open the door, and then you can open the chest. This chest contains an abundant elixir.

Now that you have the chest, you can claim your Blessing Light.
