Here is our giant boss strategy in Quarry to beat The Giant:
Preparing for the El Gigante fight
For the giant fight in the Quarry, we recommend that you bring the TMP weapon. You can buy it from the merchant for 10,000 pesetas on standard difficulty. It’s not necessary to beat El Gigante, but it will make your battle much easier. Grenades are also great for quick damage, but aren’t essential if you’d rather save them for the next fight.
Another important thing you need to do to prepare for the giant boss fight in Quarry is to free the dog from the bear trap outside the Village Chief’s Manor. It will help you during the fight to act as a useful distraction and will even cause the giant to fall at one point, leaving it open to an easy attack.
Our last recommendation to prepare is to go fishing in the lake or fish farm, collect the eggs that the chickens lay in the small corner on the east side of the lake, and stab any snakes you see in the fish farm. These are all essentially free health items.
Just don’t use the golden goose egg unless you’re really struggling! You need it for the Egg Hunt request, but there is a chance to get another one later in the game.
Fighting strategy against El Gigante
You can collect all the items in the two small wooden houses at the beginning of the fight or during it while running away from the giant. There are ammo and health items here, but what’s in the crates and barrels is random.
The rest of the fight is pretty straightforward, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy! You have to damage The Giant enough until the parasite comes out of his back, then damage the parasite until the giant falls to the ground. Run and press the message when the giant is knocked down to stab the parasite.
The Giant will get back up after you stab him, or if you don’t get to him in time, and you will start this sequence again until The Giant dies. You don’t have to target the parasite when he appears, but hitting him will cause more damage to The Giant.
The Giant will also lift the roofs of houses and try to throw them at you sometimes, so be sure to run towards the giant’s feet when this happens to avoid getting hit.
The dog will come and help you after a while if you freed him, and when the scene where the dog bites the giant’s foot plays, stay close to the giant as he will soon fall to the ground after chasing the dog, leaving him open. . so you can attack the parasite.
We recommend using the TMP weapon on the parasite on The Giant’s back. It deals a lot of damage in a short amount of time, making it perfect for attacking the parasite when the giant stops moving.
If you have a lot of ammo, the TMP is also great for damaging the giant and making the parasite come out, but only if you have a lot of ammo. Otherwise, we got by just fine using the shotgun while running between his legs and the Red9 pistol at a longer distance.
Once you kill The Giant, he will drop a Yellow Diamond and you can continue your journey back to the church.

Except for the dog, of course, the TMP is your best friend during the giant fight in Hardcore or Professional. You can do it without the TMP, since we had to fight the giant in Professional with the rifle the first time, so it’s doable, but speaking from our poorly planned experience, it’s much harder.
