How to increase inventory size in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

As with BOTW, you will quickly run out of inventory space in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. From all the random loot you’ll collect from the numerous shrines to finding some of the best armor sets out there, you’ll look for any opportunity you can to increase the size of your inventory.

Increasing the size of your inventory is a grueling task and only completionists will be able to maximize it. But either way, it’s something you’ll quickly regret not spending a little time concentrating on: Hyrule is filled with all kinds of swords, shields, and bows.

How to increase inventory size in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To increase your inventory size in Tears of the Kingdom you will need Korok Seeds, and you will need a lot of them. To use Korok seeds, you will need to trade them with Hestu, a giant Korok that appears from time to time.

When you first enter Hyrule, Link’s stash will only be able to hold a small morsel of items. He will be able to carry exactly nine weapons, four shields and five bows. But after many visits to Hestu and many hours searching for Korok Seeds, you will eventually become a one-man arsenal.

Giving Korok seeds to Hestu is the only way to increase his inventory space. As tempting as it may be to ignore missing Koroks or do unspeakable things to them, the best option is to reunite friends. It’s an easy way to get two Korok seeds at once without having to scour the wilds looking for hidden Koroks.

However, note that Hestu increases the number of Korok seeds needed after expanding a given bag multiple times. For example, one seed is needed to increase your weapon inventory the first time, but you will have to turn in two the second time. However, the increase is tied to specific exchanges. If you expand your Weapon Pouch five times, but haven’t touched your Shield Pouch, expanding the Shield Pouch will only cost you one Korok Seed.
