How to check KD in Modern Warfare 2 and what we know about Combat Record

KD is a very important player stat in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer and any Call of Duty game, as it tracks the ratio of kills you have achieved across all multiplayer playlists.

While it’s not as important when playing objective-based modes like Headquarters or Search and Destroy, it’s still a good indicator when looking at your Combat Record to see how well you’ve been playing and improving.

Below we detail how to check KD in Modern Warfare 2, along with information on the mysteriously missing Combat Log feature.

How to check KD in Modern Warfare 2

Currently, the only way to check your KD ratio in Modern Warfare 2 at launch is on the scoreboard at the end of a match. This is not visible while you are playing, so you have to wait until the end to see how well you did.

The columns are spaced out a bit at launch, but you should usually be able to check your personal KD and others you played with in the ‘K/D Ratio’ section. It is the number of the decimal point.

Unfortunately, there is no way to see your KD ratio at the moment except in individual matches. So unless you take note and average your KD at the end of each match, you won’t be able to see how well you’ve done in all the modes and matches you’ve been playing, as far as kills and deaths are concerned.

What we know about Modern Warfare 2 Combat Record at launch

You cannot see your overall KD or other stats because there is currently no Barracks or Combat Log feature in MW2. It’s a bit of an odd omission, and unlike Hardcore mode and the Season 1 Battle Pass, developer Infinity Ward hasn’t acknowledged its absence.

Because of this, we don’t know for sure if and when Combat Record or Barracks will be available in Modern Warfare 2, but we have unofficial confirmation that it exists from popular Call of Duty Calling Card news source TheMW2Ghost on Twitter.

I just saw all the business cards and ‘Mastery Challenges’.

Thank God. I’m not sure why they aren’t in the game yet, but they DO exist.

Combat record too. #MWII

We’re inclined to believe them, and that Combat Record and checking KD will return in Modern Warfare 2, as it would be a very strange feature for Call of Duty to suddenly disappear without warning, seeing how popular it is.
