Anthem Treasure Chests are a source of loot that you can find while exploring the world of Bastion.
Not only are they an additional source of weapons and other equipment, but treasure chest locations need to be found to progress through Anthem’s walkthrough, so learning how they work is important to getting past the story bottleneck of the game. game.
If you’ve played other shared-world shooters and RPGs, like Destiny, Anthem’s treasure chest locations work similarly, but you might still need a hand to help you narrow down where they might be.
Anthem Treasure Chest Locations – How to Find Chest Locations
First, it’s worth explaining how Anthem’s treasure chests work. There are two methods to find them:
- Appears as a reward for completing world events.
- Found when exploring the world.
Complete world events
The easiest and most reliable way to find treasure chest locations is by completing world events. This will occur while you are exploring Bastion in Free Play mode, and your controller will tell you when they are available and add their location to the map.
Upon completion, an Anthem Treasure Chest will appear as a reward. Open it and voila, the loot inside is yours, and if you’re doing a challenge, one will be added to your total. (It’s worth noting that a bug early in the game caused only the person who opened them to get credit, but this has changed since the game’s Early Access period.)
Found when exploring the world.
Like Ember Pieces, treasure chests will appear during exploration, either during missions or in Freeplay mode. These will appear randomly, but in set locations, meaning there are set places where chests will appear, but they won’t always be there. Come back to that place later, and it might as well be.
What places are these? These can be any place that is unique or interesting: at the foot of high cliffs, underwater, in caves, in small camps, or in ruins.
The best way to find treasure chests is to simply explore. You’ll see it when you get reasonably close, as the game interface highlights them with a chest symbol, and when you get even closer, a button will tell you to interact with it.
If you find the location of a treasure chest, try to remember it. A chest may respawn there in the future, so if you fly by or do an activity nearby later, check it again as it will likely respawn there.

The fastest way to get Anthem treasure chests
Although the best way to find Anthem treasure chests is by completing world events or keeping an eye out while doing other activities, you may want to find them as soon as possible, for example, if you need loot or want to beat the specific Treasure Chest challenge. from Yveria’s Trial as part of the Anthem walkthrough.
It is in these cases that an Anthem Treasure Chest farming route is followed. This means following a path where treasure chests are likely to appear, maximizing your chances of interacting with them.
There are many out there, but one that we found useful during the game’s launch period was this one:
Anthem Treasure Chest Farm | Yvenia Trials
Start by launching to the starting point west of the Valley of Tarshish, then dive into the water ahead, where you might find your first chest.
If you do, great, but if not, follow the route and eventually some of the chests will appear in your game as well.
For us, following this route resulted in a handful of treasure chest locations, making that part of Anthem’s walkthrough much quicker. If you need more, just repeat it over and over until you’re done.
If you find it particularly boring, or if RNG (the random number generator, or good old-fashioned good luck) isn’t in your favor, then it’s worth remembering the locations shown in the video; You can always come back to them to try. again as you continue to perform other tasks.
Keep in mind that as patches roll out, the above route might become less (or more!) efficient, but we bet it will still result in one or two Treasure Chest locations. Better than searching in the dark, right?
