RBI has released the complete list of holidays for the month of February. It is the only month that lasts less than 30 days and also has few holidays. There are only a few holidays in this month, such as Guru Ravidas Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali, Valentine’s Day, Mahashivratri, etc., apart from the second and fourth Saturdays. However, not all public and private sector banks will be closed on those days.
About February
Both the Julian and Gregorian calendars place February as the second month of the year. The Latin term februum, meaning “purification”, is the source of the Roman month name Februaryius (February).
