It’s time to go back in time again as we meet Claire and Moira six months ago. At the base of the Overseer’s tower, the brave couple find a note from Neil, which guides them to the abandoned factory on the horizon. He goes down the stairs and turns right when you reach the road. Follow it forward and go through the closed door at the end.

On the other side, in the distance, you can see the factory. Keep going and break the box when you reach the small white building on the left. Continue and when you reach the barred door, turn right and go through the blue doors nearby.

Once you’re done, you’ll find that the return route is blocked, leaving you no choice but to continue moving towards the complex. There is a box in the far left corner. Break it, return to the entrance and then follow the path to the right. When you arrive at the factory yard, the supervisor will give you an ominous welcome to the ‘Kierling’, “where everything comes to an end.”

Enter the factory

There are three possible exits from the clearing: one to the right, one directly ahead, and one through the blue doors to the left. Currently, however, the doors on the right and in front (both with large red lights) are closed, and the latter requires a retinal scan to proceed.

Head to the doors ahead and switch to Moira. Enter the alcove to your left and complete the unlock minigame to secure the machine gun ammo box. When you’re ready, head towards the blue doors you saw earlier.

Here you’ll find Neil’s dog tag, hanging from a statue of Prometheus blocking the entrance. After you have had another chat with the Overseer, the door directly behind you (which now has a green light) will unlock. Turn around and continue.

Inside the building, you will find a TAP194 Shotgun placed on the reception desk to the left. There is also a workbench placed a little further forward. When you’re ready, continue to the end of the hallway, turn right, and go through the nearby blue door.

When you reach the next junction, head left and slide down the hallway to your right. For now, you can safely ignore the small corridor that runs off to the right from here; the locked door at the end requires the processing plant key to open. Instead, move forward and go through the yellow door on the left at the end of the main hallway.

Kill the resurrected mutants.

As soon as you enter the kitchen, you will disturb a mutant hiding behind the shelves in the center of the room. Deal with him as usual, but be careful: shortly after he “dies”, he will resurrect as one of the exploding monstrosities you dealt with in the previous episode. Keep your distance and fire a shotgun to take him down quickly.

Next, return to the previous junction and this time turn right. There is a small waiting area immediately to your right (concealing a hidden item between two leather chairs) and a locked metal door to your left. To get through here, you need the key to the processing plant, so for now, continue along the corridor.

Note the staircase leading to the right, then enter the bathroom directly ahead. Turn right, go up the stairs and loot the bathroom stalls. When you’re ready, return to the ladder you noted earlier and go up to the first landing.

The yellow door directly ahead requires a retinal scan to open. Leave it for now and continue along the landing, taking the first right when you arrive. From here, go straight ahead and enter the bathroom.

Going up the stairs, you will find another mutant in the third cubicle. Take him down but prepare for him to resurrect. Once he is dead, again, he grabs the green grass that is nearby and exits the bathroom.

When you return to the previous area, head immediately to the right and down the long hallway ahead. You’ll pass a blue door on the right (locked from the other side) and a larger room at the end. Move forward to the double doors with the fancy insignia ahead, then switch to Moira to retrieve the hidden item from the closet on the right.

Where to find the processing plant key

Then, go through the doors and into a cage-like room that sports a suspiciously pointed ceiling. There are two statues ahead: one containing an artificial eye and another holding the key to the processing plant. As soon as you grab the Artificial Eye, the door behind you closes and the trap-filled ceiling begins to descend.

To retrieve the key, slide the artificial eye and wait until the spikes fall enough to break the bird statue. Immediately replace the artificial eye to reset the trap and take the key to the soil processing plant.
