Gible is a Dragon and Ground-type Pokémon, which evolves into Gabite and eventually Garchomp in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
A well-trained Gible can become a powerful Garchomp, but first you need to know how to get Gible.
Once you’ve captured a Gible, it’s a good idea to research Gible’s moveset and base stats, so you can transform into the perfect asset for your team.

How to get Gible in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
There are three ways to get Gible in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl without having to trade with another player.
The first is to take one in the basement level of Wayward Cave, which is located at the north end of Route 206. This basement level cannot be accessed by entering through the easy-to-see entrance; instead, you must use the secret entrance hidden beneath the cycle path.
The location of the secret entrance to Wayward Cave.
However, you must first make some preparations and defeat the sixth Gym Leader, Byron, in Canalave City, in order to use HM Strength outside of battle. Having a Pokémon that knows Flash (TM70) will also make the cave easier to navigate. TM70 can be found at Oreburgh Gate or purchased at the Veilstone City Department Store for $1000.
You should also purchase an escape rope, a couple of grass repellents on Route 206, and PokéBalls; Find our recommendations later in this section.
Once you’ve entered Wayward Cave through its secret entrance, use Strength to move the rock out of the way and go down the stairs to reach the basement. You may want to use the bike to explore further, but staying by the entrance won’t hurt your Gible hunt.
Gible has a fairly low spawn rate, so it may take some time to find one, and when you do it will be between level 15 and 17.
For this reason, we recommend using a Pokémon close to this level range or the move False Swipe, to lower its level. Inflicting a status condition, such as sleep or paralysis, will also increase your chances of catching a Gible. Since Gible is a Dragon and Ground-type Pokémon, it will be weak to Dragon, Fairy, and Ice moves. Just avoid knocking him out!
When it comes to Poké Balls, we recommend using a Quick Ball as your first option, because it will be most effective at the beginning of a battle. If this fails, immediately switch to Ultra Balls or Dusk Balls; Ultra Balls are much more likely to catch Pokémon compared to others, while Dusk Balls are more effective at night or in caves.
These are also good PokéBall options to catch Gible using the following method.
Gible can also be found in three of the Pokémon hideouts in Grand Underground: Fountainspring Cave, Riverbank Cave, and Still-Water Cavern. You need the seventh Gym Badge, the Icicle Badge, for Gible to appear and its level to match whatever Pokémon Hideaway level requirements you are currently meeting.
Finally, Gible can be obtained by breeding a male and female Gabite or Garchomp, or simply one of these Pokémon with Ditto, at the Pokémon Daycare in Solaceon Town. Visit regularly until you receive an egg and then take a long walk until your Gible hatches!
This method is quite useful for creating a Gible with perfect IVs, although it will hatch at Level 1.
It’s time to revisit Sinnoh! Our now complete walkthrough of Diamond and Pearl to the main story is where to start. Your journey begins by selecting your starter Pokémon near Twinleaf Town, before visiting Sandgem Town and Jubilife City. To become a Pokémon Master, you must defeat the gym leaders in Oreburgh City, Eterna City, Veilstone City, Pastoria City, and Hearthome City, along with three others.
In addition to badges, you’ll want to get mystery gift codes, complete the Sinnoh Pokédex using Honey Trees, visit Great Marsh, and Pokémon Hideaways in Grand Underground. Take the time to catch Gible, Spiritomb and Drifloon! Finally, you can now catch Arceus.

Below you can find the moves that Gible, Gabite, and Garchomp can learn when leveling up in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
While the move set doesn’t change between evolutions, the levels at which the Pokémon can learn these moves do, so if there’s a move you particularly want, it’s a good idea to prevent the Pokémon from evolving. This can be done by pressing ‘B’ while trying to evolve or by giving the Pokémon an Eternal Stone to hold.
You can also use a variety of MTs on these Pokémon, so feel free to experiment outside of the established moveset.
