This week’s Featured Hour is all about the Pokémon Tiny Pigeon, making it the perfect time to catch a shiny Pidove in Pokémon Go.
Unfortunately, Pidove and its evolutions Tranquill and Unfezant aren’t of much use in competitive play or raiding in Pokémon Go. However, if you are still missing a perfect shiny or 4* Pokémon, this is your chance to try to find one.
If you’re not interested in Pidove, the plan for this week’s Spotlight Hour is to evolve as many Pokémon as possible, due to the double evolution XP bonus that runs alongside the event.

Pidove 100% perfect IV stats in Pokémon Go
This week’s Featured Hour is a great opportunity to catch a Pidove with perfect IV stats.
Pidove.
“Perfect” means two things in Pokémon Go, depending on how you plan to use a given Pokémon. First, there’s the max build, 100% IV, which is the 15/15/15 you’re looking for for your 4* Pokédex, Raids, and Master League. However, because of how CP is calculated using three stats, a perfect Pokémon IV is usually just the best version of itself in the Master League.
Of course, you can’t see a Pokémon’s IV without catching it first, but with a little research beforehand, you can quickly spot a perfect Pidove based on CP alone.
If you’re at level 30 (or higher), you’ll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Pidove:
The wild CP value aligns with your trainer level until you reach level 30, and since the majority of the player base is now above this level, we’ve kept these values for the sake of simplicity. However, these values will be different if you are currently below level 30.
Is Unfezant good at PvP?
No matter what league you’re watching, Unfezant performs Air Slash, Sky Attack, and Hyper Beam as a second charged move.
Ineffable.
Unfortunately, while this is a reasonable moveset, applying both fast movement and shield pressure, it simply doesn’t have the stats to make it worthwhile in Great, Ultra, or Master League. For example, despite its resistance to Ground-type attacks, it still loses decisively to Galarian Stunfisk in Ultra League, a Pokémon that simply dominates the meta.
Similarly, he folds to Dialga and Metagross in Master League, and Azumarill and Medicham in Great League. Unfezant is just bad.
However, if you are determined to make it work, a ‘perfect Go Battle League IV’ Unfezant, you should look for a 0/15/14 Unfezant for Great League and a 02/15/13 Unfezant for Ultra League.
The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! Its first event is A Paldean Adventure, which sees the true launch of Gen 9 and the special research mission A Paldean Adventure. You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
Is there a shiny Pidove in Pokémon Go?
Finally, some good news for bird Pokémon lovers: there is a shiny Pidove in Pokémon Go and there has been for a long time!
Pidove’s Brilliant Form was released on the game’s fourth anniversary, July 3, 2020; If you catch one, you can turn it into a shiny Tranquill and eventually a shiny Unfezant.

If luck is on your side, you may find a shiny Pidove in the wild, but keep in mind that this is not a Community Day and shiny rates do not increase, so the chances of catching one, and much less a perfect one, they are very low. . That said, every Pidove you see has the potential to be brilliant, so it’s purely a numbers game: play each and every one of them and see what you get. Good luck finding the Pidove you need!
What does the shiny Pidove look like?
As you can see, the bright Pidove looks like an unpleasant fairy, only the eyes change color and the feathers become a little darker.
That said, the evolutions are fantastic, with Tranquill taking on a beautiful bright green shade and Unfezant taking on a slightly lighter shade with beautiful purple facial feathers.

Other tips for this hour of attention
Besides trying to catch a shiny Pidove in Pokémon Go, there are a couple more good reasons to participate in this week’s Spotlight:
- The best reason is, of course, the double evolution XP bonus that runs throughout the hour. This gives you the opportunity to accumulate a lot of XP very quickly, so you can increase your trainer level. The best way to do this is to have two Tags in your Pokémon stores dedicated to this time. The first is the things you want to evolve and keep (usually strong Pokémon and Pokémon you need to evolve to update your Pokédex) and the things you want to evolve and transfer. This second box should contain all of the 12 candy Pokémon. The search string to quickly find all of these rated less than 3* is: 0*,1*,2*&10,13,16,265,293,519&!shiny
- If you’re a newcomer, this Featured Hour is the perfect time to collect enough Pidove Candy to fully evolve this Pokémon and enter all of its evolutions into the Pokédex.
- Since Pidove is a normal and flying type, catching a bunch during this Featured Hour will add progress to your normal and flying type capture bonus medals.
Spotlight Hour events only last one hour: from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm (local time). Featured times for September have not yet been announced, but check back next Tuesday for the basic information you need to make the most of the event.
